The NFL, Hallmark and the Kansas City Chiefs announced Tuesday they’re teaming up to create a Christmas romance movie.
The upcoming Hallmark Channel movie, titled “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story,” is seemingly inspired by singer Taylor Swift and Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce’s romance.
The movie’s production is set to begin in July, according to a Chiefs press release. The movie will be filmed entirely in Kansas City, Missouri, featuring locations such as the GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. “By blending the warmth of Hallmark storytelling with the excitement of professional football, we are thrilled to give audiences a front-row seat to this community’s spirit, rich traditions and passionate fans that define Kansas City, all wrapped up in the comforting and uplifting Hallmark way,” Abbott added.

This partnership unites two passionate fanbases and gives us an opportunity to show Chiefs Kingdom’s energy and tradition on one of the most-watched channels during the holiday season.”
The film will follow the storyline of the characters Alana and Derrick, who meet at a Chiefs “Fan of the Year” contest, the press release noted. As Derrick, the director of Fan Engagement, and contestant Alana spend more time together, a romance kindles. But once Alana’s grandfather’s vintage lucky hat goes missing, “Alana begins to doubt everything she believed about fate, destiny and even questions her future with Derrick – unless, that is, a little Christmas magic can throw a Hail Mary,” the press release stated.
Canadian actor Tyler Hynes and Hunter King, sister of actress Joey King, are set to play the love-interest roles, the release stated.
Ed Begley Jr., known for his roles in “Better Call Saul” and “Young Sheldon” is set to play Alana’s grandfather in the movie, the release noted.
