Authorities in Las Vegas have charged a woman with allegedly filming herself sexually assaulting a child, KLAS8 reported Monday.

Jaeden Choate, 22, told police she recorded the alleged sexual assault to avoid blackmail, according to documents obtained by KLAS8. Police initiated their investigation after a woman called 911 July 15 and claimed she had received a video showing Choate “telling [a child]” to touch her while she spread “her legs open,” KLAS8 reported. In the video that police reviewed a child can be heard saying, “I don’t like it,” while allegedly performing sex acts on Choate, according to the outlet.

After police took Choate into custody, they discovered that the child was known to Choate, who denied any molestation allegedly depicted in the video, KLAS8 reported.

Choate claimed that a man who “acted like her sugar daddy” had sent her “random text messages” offering her $8,000 to film herself smearing feces on her body, according to KLAS8.

After Choate made the video and sent it to the man, she discovered he was an ex-boyfriend allegedly planning to use the video to blackmail her, the outlet reported.

Choate told police that she recorded the video with the child because she feared further blackmail, apparently from the ex-boyfriend, according to KLAS.

Choate, who faces charges including sex assault against a child and lewdness with a child, was denied bail during her first court appearance because she was on probation for prior burglary and theft charges, KLAS reported.

Judge Rebecca Saxe set a preliminary hearing for August 1, according to the outlet.
