Police say a shootout with two alleged assailants Saturday night critically wounded a legally armed 26-year-old Philadelphia man, FOX29 reported.
Law enforcement said they found the 26-year-old victim in critical condition after he was shot in the exchange of gunfire with two 16-year-old suspects who allegedly tried to rob him, according to FOX29.

“It appears a 16-year-old may have been attempting to rob a 26-year-old, and the 26-year-old who is armed legally with a weapon and the two young men exchanged gunfire,” Philadelphia Police Department (PPD) Inspector D.F. Pace told FOX29.

The suspect who was hit was taken to a local hospital in critical condition while the other escaped injury and was taken into custody, FOX29 reported.
“I was coming out of my house, and I seen the two guys walking past,” a witness told FOX29. “I seen him and I knew they were up to no good. By the time we walked around in the opposite way of Parkside Avenue, we heard pop, pop, pop, pop, pop and said oh my God they shot him.”
