Peacock released the trailer for “Face to Face with Scott Peterson” Thursday morning, revealing the first on-camera interview with the convicted murderer in more than 20 years.
Following quickly on the heels of Netflix’s “American Murder: Laci Peterson” trailer, Peacock seems to be telling the other side of one of America’s most notorious true crimes in their upcoming series. “Face to Face with Scott Peterson” details the haunting investigations into the murder of Laci Peterson, who at 8 months pregnant, went missing on Christmas Eve in 2002, according to the description.
Her husband, Scott Peterson, was arrested for her murder in 2003. Throughout the case, revelations of Scott’s private life stunned the world and he was subsequently convicted for Laci’s murder and sentenced to death. But some people think the jury got it wrong.
“For the first time since before his arrest in 2003, Scott speaks on camera in a series of intimate conversations revealing his side of the story with Director and Executive Producer Shareen Anderson,” the description reads. Anderson’s own investigation into the case has been ongoing for more than a decade. (RELATED: You Can’t Help But Feel Uneasy Watching The Trailer For ‘American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez’)
Scott’s family and other experts have spent even longer tracking the alleged inconsistencies of the case, suggesting alternative theories to Laci’s murder. “And in a shocking twist on a murder the world thought was solved, the Los Angeles Innocence Project takes over Scott’s case in 2024,” the description teases.
