Netflix dropped the extremely creepy trailer for “MONSTERS: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story” on Tuesday.
It’s a murder that continues to evade true understanding to this day: two wealthy Beverly Hills brothers brutally massacred their parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez, in 1989. The boys claimed the murder came as a result of years of sexual abuse from their father, while prosecutors said it was the money the brothers wanted.
Now, media mogul Ryan Murphy is giving his version of events in the upcoming series “MONSTER: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story,” along with a pretty stellar lead cast.
Javier Bardem and Chloë Sevigny star as Jose and Kitty, with newcomers Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Cooper Koch playing the brothers, according to Tudum. (RELATED: Member Of Famous Boy Band Alleges He Was Raped By Father Of Menendez Brothers)
While Netflix doesn’t give much away about how Murphy threw this story together, the character descriptions hint and how this drama will play out. We’ve got Nathan Lane as Dominick Dunne, who wrote about the trial for Vanity Fair. Leslie Grossman plays a former patient and mistress of Erik Menendez’s therapist. A host of others makes up the ensemble cast.

Like most Murphy shows, I’m expecting it to be sexually explicit for no real reason, gory as heck, like, to an unnecessary degree, and nausea-inducing from start to finish.
But I don’t think it’ll be bad.
