KILLEEN, Texas (AP) — An unarmed man falsely claiming to be an attorney and a doctor has been blocked from visiting the Army psychiatrist charged in the Fort Hood shootings.
Brooke Army Medical Center spokesman Dewey Mitchell says the man asked security at the hospital in San Antonio to escort him to Maj. Nidal Hasan on Wednesday.
Mitchell says he claimed to be Hasan’s attorney, John Galligan, but security personnel know the lawyer. The man, whose name wasn’t released, then said he was a doctor.
Mitchell says investigators spoke to the man but no charges were filed and he was not considered a threat.
Hasan is charged with 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder in the Nov. 5 shootings. He is undergoing rehabilitation for paralysis.
