NBC celebrates Black History Month with fried chicken and collard greens

Really, NBC?

Thanks to the Roots star Questlove, who’s also the leader of Jimmy Fallon’s “Late Night” band, the world has now seen this sign posted today in the NBC Universal commissary at 30 Rockefeller Center. (Sign at left.)

Yup. Really.

Questlove snapped a picture of the sign and posted it to his Twitter feed, along with the message, “Hmmm. HR?”. Not long afterward, a rep for NBCU took to Twitter to respond.

“The sign in the NBCU cafeteria has been removed. We apologize for anyone who was offended by it,” the rep said.

    This is much ado about nothing. Italians like pasta, Mexicans like tacos, Southerners like catfish and black people like fried chicken and collard greens. Has political correctness gone mad? Yes.

    Their cafeteria’s Chef (who is black) was proud to be able to offer a menu for B.H. month. What did NBC expect? Lasagna?

    This disclosure raised hell with NBC’s special plans for next year’s MLK day, when they were arranging for Australioan-grown watermelons to be flown to Burbank for the especial luncheon to honor the good Doctor, since they would be out-of-season in the US.

Hasan attack (oh wait, that one didn’t happen.)
