WASHINGTON (AP) — Metro says a six-car red line train has derailed near the Farragut North station in downtown Washington.

Spokeswoman Bessy Guevara says there are no reported injuries. Guevara says according to a preliminary report the front wheels of the train’s first car slipped off just after 10 a.m. Friday.

Guevara says authorities are at the scene trying to get passengers off the train.

Police have blocked K Street near the station. Emergency vehicles are rushing in from all directions.

A Metro train crash in June killed nine people when one train slammed into another that was stopped on the tracks.
