Appearing on the cover of Vogue is an elusive achievement. The woman in question must exude a variety of attributes: fame, talent, beauty and, perhaps most importantly, the approval of editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
Wintour pioneered the move to feature celebrities on the cover instead of fashion models. However, this has sparked some confusion over who is worthy of a cover shoot.
The current controversy surrounds “Precious” star Gabourey Sidibe, who is reportedly getting the cold shoulder from the magazine. “She’s a joke in the fashion community,” a fashion industry insider scoffed, and has “no chance of appearing on the cover due to her size.”
