Hang onto your hats, folks: The Times Square bomber might not be a Tea Partier

NBC:

Authorities arrested a U.S. citizen in connection with the failed bombing attempt in New York’s Times Square as he tried to leave the country, Attorney General Eric Holder said Tuesday.

Faisal Shahzad, 30, was arrested at 11:45 p.m. ET Monday night by Customs and Border Protection agents as he attempted to board an Emirates airlines flight to Dubai at New York’s JFK airport, officials said.

Like Bloomberg said, it’s probably some sort of Tea Party thing. They’re big on that in the United Arab Emirates.

P.S. banderson at Daily Kos says:

If I were the Tea Partiers, I wouldn’t be too quick to dwell on the question of why Americans might think they’re involved in terrorism. I don’t think that’s a discussion that’s going to go well for them.

Try me.

P.P.S. Mike Riggs, Mark Steyn, Stephen Hayes, and Roger L. Simon have more.
