Former White House Social Secretary lands new job with Johnson Publishing

Desiree Rogers, the former White House social secretary who left that job after a couple crashed a state dinner, has a new job in Chicago.

Johnson Publishing tells the Chicago Sun-Times that Desiree Rogers has just been hired as a consultant to help with corporate strategy.

Johnson Publishing owns Ebony and Jet magazines.

Rogers, 50, is a longtime friend of the Obamas.

She’s a former head of Peoples Energy and the Illinois Lottery, who also has held top positions at Allstate Insurance and AT&T.
