They might even have chance to cross paths later this year – at the Ryder Cup.
European captain Colin Montgomerie is scrambling in damage-control mode after a British tabloid revealed he put his two-year marriage in jeopardy by rekindling an old flame with a neighbor.
“It’s up to [wife] Gaynor and I to work things out,” the Scotsman said after Friday’s round at the Wales Open, played at the same Celtic Manor resort where the Ryder Cup will be contested in October.
“We look forward to welcoming everybody here in October. It’s not going to impact my captaincy at all. Not one bit.”
