Gingrich expects Palin to run in 2012

Bookmark and Share

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) said Friday that he expects former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) to be among the crowd of GOP presidential candidates in 2012.

Gingrich, himself a potential candidate for president, sized up the field of would-be competitors, detailing which GOP politicians he expects to jump into the race.

The field Gingrich listed included: former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, Palin, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels, Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, Sen. John Thune (S.D.), and Rep. Ron Paul (Texas).

Newt or any Republican should not waste time talking about other candidates. They should focus on solutions for problems.

I’ve seen Palin giving the Illuminati hand signals at her speeches and in photos MANY times. (thumb, pinky and forefinger up, middle two fingers down).

    DO WE WANT “ANOTHER” BUSH?

Newt will win ANY debate, but people still focus on a few negatives, Romney will appeal to Blue Dogs, and possibly even some other Dems, Chris Christie will be an *ss-kicker, but forget getting ANY Dem votes, Mike Huckabee can NEVER win, (too many reasons to list), Sarah Palin has a liberal-placed target on her back the size of Mt. Rushmore, they DESPISE her to the point of madness), Ron Paul… I don’t see it. Bobby Jindal? Maybe! I’m not sure how he’d dig us out of this economic nightmare, but at least he’d give small business some confidence which would get jobs going again. And that’s the MAIN thing!

I don’t want Sarah as a candidate. She could not even fulfill her time as governor. Her explanation for quitting was she could not focus on her job due to media attention. Well, if she could not focus as governor then forget focusing as president. We really do need a uniter and this will just be more division. Plus, we need to win and we won’t with either Sarah or Newt. We need a leader and I like Chris Christie or Jindell. It is time for change Newt and Sarah are so yesterday!

I’m not impressed by any of the names listed in the article. He’s raising bucketfuls of money, but most of us have long enough memories that we would never vote for Newt.

Mitt Romney is the only one who has the potential to appeal to the majority of Americans in the middle who are needed to win a national election, but I’m not sure he could to it, either.

Sarah Palin’s gonna run, because she’s surrounded by the star struck who will egg her big ego on, but she won’t win the nomination. In the meantime, though, she’s going to be a big drain on the the pockets of any Republican who runs against her and there will be some big, ugly battles which the Dems can just sit back and watch. Not so sure 2012 is gonna be THE year.

Ron Paul is in a statistical dead heat with Obama*, I think any of these guys can beat him. Vote for the one you’d most like to see president. For me, of course, that’s Ron Paul. I do like Mitch Daniels though… Also, where’s Mike Pence?

Don’t ever forget Mark Twain: “There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics.” I can’t take this particular poll seriously.

        • krjohnson

Well I don’t know why you shouldn’t believe this poll. Its Rasmussen, not some kind of “Flybynight Polling Inc.” Interestingly, it shows independent voters flocking to Ron Paul even while his own party only shows tepid support. I have to think his base would firm up in short order when they really realized the alternative.

What we need to identify is the 2010 equivalent to 1994 Newt. Jindal? Maybe. Brewer? Could be. Christie? Possibly. Let’s see which one pisses off the most Progressives and base it on that.

Palin is the one they hate the most, but she does not need to run. The GOP isn’t going to assure anyone that they’re more serious about government by putting up a 1/2 term governor who’s been communicating via Facebook ever since she resigned. I like Palin, but she should keep doing what she’s doing and let people who are established politicians run. The winner is going to face a nightmare of debt, unemployment and socialist-lite programs to walk back. That’s a job for someone who has considerable experience in governing, not someone who people have “hope” in.

Surely Rand won’t run again!!! He’s too much of spoiler.

Hopefully, you will wake up and realize that America doesn’t need another corrupt progressive. Thanks for nothing, Newt.

Newt is a Prgressive now? I’d love to see you defend that.

He’s the only impressive one in the field, even though he couldn’t win.

    • theprofessor

I don’t like Newt Gingrich, but you can’t possible say he’s a “corrupt progressive”.

      How so you figure that?
