‘How dare you call Obama a Muslim? Not that there’s anything wrong with it…’

We’ve all seen what happens when Obama tries to throw a baseball. Now we see how he learned to bat: Swing at every. Single. Pitch.

CNN:

White House strikes back at ‘Muslim’ tag

The White House is responding to new polls Thursday that show an increasing number of Americans believe that President Obama is a Muslim.

“President Obama is a committed Christian, and his faith is an important part of his daily life,” Deputy White House Communications Director Jen Psaki told CNN. “He prays every day, he seeks a small circle of Christian pastors to give him spiritual advice and counseling, he even receives a daily devotional that he uses each morning. The President’s Christian faith is a part of who he is, but not a part of what the public or the media is focused on everyday.”

Okay. Good for him.

Hey, doesn’t Obama like to talk about disregarding polls? (When he doesn’t like them, at least.) I thought that was supposed to be a sign of his brave leadership. So why the change of heart? Why does he feel the need to explain himself based on what some poll says? How are his religious beliefs, if any, our business as long as he’s not pushing them on others?

Remember when the rumors were going around that Elena Kagan is gay, and the White House put out a statement denying the “accusation”? As if there’s something wrong with it. You would’ve thought they had learned something from that.

P.S. Pete Lewis makes an excellent point: If they’re so keen to prove Obama’s a Christian, why don’t they call Rev. Jeremiah Wright as a character witness?
