Andrew Cuomo is about to face the fury of a “mad as hell” Tea Party candidate in surprise GOP rival Carl Paladino.

The maverick Buffalo businessman stunned the political class Tuesday night by winning the GOP gubernatorial nod – setting up a bruising showdown with Cuomo.

Paladino was thumping party leaders’ pick for the job, Long Islander Rick Lazio, by a roughly 2-to-1 margin when The Associated Press called the race in his favor at 11p.m.
