EUGENE — Maybe UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel is right and somebody, someday eventually will solve Oregon’s fast-forward offense.
But this was not the time, and Neuheisel’s Bruins were not the team.
The No. 1-ranked Ducks buried UCLA 60-13 Thursday night in Autzen Stadium in front of a rollicking crowd of 59,372 and a nationwide ESPN television audience.
“Hopefully it was a good impression,” UO quarterback Darron Thomas said.
It's hard to know exactly what the BCS computers will make of it.
Oregon already was a consensus No.1 in the three human polls — the Associated Press, coaches and Harris.
But the Ducks (7-0, 4-0 Pacific-10 Conference) were second in the first BCS standings, which are determined with a formula that includes the coaches and Harris polls, and an average of six computer rankings.
The computers had Oregon eighth, and, well, this was slumping UCLA’s third Pac-10 loss, all by lopsided margins.
