‘Show me on the doll where the TSA screener touched you’

Airport security is an unfortunate fact of life, and the employees of the Transportation Security Administration have a thankless job. Most of them do the best they can. The rest? Well…

Yes, the rules are there for a reason. But do the rules mean you have to throw away simple common sense? As Ed Morrissey points out, sadly it’s not outside the realm of possibility that a terrorist could use a child to smuggle a bomb onboard a plane. But in order to do that, wouldn’t the terrorist need to pose as the child’s parent? (Or, in an even sicker possibility, be the parent.) So instead of touching little kids in ways little kids are told they’re never to be touched, how about talking to the parents? Wouldn’t that give you a better idea of the threat level than making a toddler scream and cry?

Besides, you never know if one of those parents might be a TV reporter. And these days everything ends up on Youtube.

P.S. That clip has been taken down, but you can still see it here.
