White voters are becoming increasingly Republican

By any standard, white voters’ rejection of Democrats in November’s elections was daunting and even historic.

Fully 60 percent of whites nationwide backed Republican candidates for the House of Representatives; only 37 percent supported Democrats, according to the National Election Poll exit poll conducted by Edison Research. Not even in Republicans’ 1994 congressional landslide did they win that high a percentage of the white vote.

Moreover, those results may understate the extent of the white flight from the Democratic Party, according to a National Journal analysis of previously unpublished exit-poll data provided by Edison Research.

Sure, it has nothing to do with the crap economy and the party in the majority at the time. The Republican Party was being written off in 2008 too. These writers just need something, anything, to write about.

Why would anyone who works for a living vote Republican?

    • thephranc

Because they like keeping their money and having it taken by force to pay for socialist programmes.

In MD the dems want to tax every alcohol drink sold ten cents to pay for services for people who have various illnesses. They trot out some woman with a picture of her sick kid to guilt people into accepting it. It is not my duty to provide for others. Life is hard not every one can live for ever nor should they. I work and I’m sick of dems coming up with new ways to take more money from me.

So if 60% of whites are more conservative, then in their inherent racist state they simply cannot handle blacks in positions of power. The article further reinforces this idea by the use of the term “color line” implicating whites living in separate neighborhoods. Both are allusions to white flight in the 1960s in places like Detroit. But when 95% of blacks vote democrat no matter who the candidate is, then there is of course no racism or racial preference on behalf of blacks.

You are absolutely right! I call the 5% of voting blacks who aren’t racist drones the 5%ers, they can think for themselves unlike the majority who seem to be blinded by racism and ideology, and nobody ever calls them out on it.

Mapletree gets it unlike the genius grasyknol, who has never worked a day but has been subsidized from birth. It’s easy to vote Dimocrat when they give out all the prizes and “free” gifts but it’s hard to figure out where they come from, hmmm maybe Obama’s stash, yep that’s it.

Anyway, to the white voters who finally woke up, welcome home!

If Thomas Sowell (and I don’t care if he IS nearly 80) ran for President against Obama, it would be a LANDSLIDE for the Republicans, and Sowell would garner the majority of the white AND black vote. You can take that to the bank!

It ALL depends on who is running!

I guess I don’t see the story here – 99% of blacks vote democrat, so whats the big deal with 60% of whites voting Republican?

If you havn’t realized by now that America is being split along racial lines and by party then I don’t know where you have been. It’s been going on for as long as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton have opened their racists mouths.

Unfortunately the majority of blacks listen to these 2 clowns and don’t think for themselves. They don’t realize it, but they are slaves to these 2 men and the democratic party.

Notice the media, including the Daily Caller, chose a picture of the angry white man to reinforce the undertone of racism in the article.

    • pepito

Yeah really, 99% of blacks are Dems so what’s DC’s point? They only have Obama, the most divisive president ever to blame on this one!

      • thephranc

Not DC’s point. National Journals point.
