Stephen King’s ‘The Stand’ coming to the big screen

Stephen King’s grand opus “The Stand” is finally getting the big-screen treatment.

Warner Bros. and CBS Films are teaming to adapt the novel, which in many ways set the bar for a generation of post-apocalyptic stories and influenced works ranging from TV’s Lost to music group Anthrax.

Mosaic and Roy Lee are producing.

The companies will co-develop and co-produce the feature film, with CBS having the option to participate in co-financing. Warners will handle worldwide marketing and distribution.

“The Stand” has already been made into a movie. I have it! It is 4 VHS tapes long and an absolutely incredible movie. Gary Sinese was the star and did a great job.

If Warner Bros and CBS remakes “The Stand,” I guarantee it will be nothing like the original and will turned into trash. Have you ever seen a remake that could hold a candle to the original? Remakes today are for one purpose and that is to see how slimey they can make them.

If CBS wants to show “The Stand,” let them use the original and show it over 4 nights as a mini-series.

How this nitwit ever became famous I don’t know. I do know that most of his movies I have seen sucked big time. He wouldn’t know a good ending if it crawled up his butt.

    He’s his own ghost writer.
