If The Situation has anything to do with it, he’ll be saying sayonara to Jersey Shore (and the small screen) pretty soon.

Believe it or not, Mike Sorrentino wants to be a movie star.

“Hopefully by the end of the year I’ll be in a movie,” he told me today in Dallas, where’s he’s pre-partying for the Super Bowl. “There’s only so long you can rule the reality world.”

So when exactly is he planning to quit the hit MTV show.

“Maybe another year or so of reality, and then I’m gonna graduate to movies,” the Reebok ZigTech spokesdude explained to me, after wrapping up a guest spot on Jamie Foxx’s Sirius radio show. “It’s like Michael Jordan. There’s only so long you can keep winning them rings.”

Not sure we’d compare the Jersey Shore star to a basketball legend, but OK.

“You gotta move on and try something different,” the other Mike continued. “I love to be in front of the camera; I love performing; I love entertaining so movies is definitely the next step.”
