Patti Lyons, an impersonator of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, made an appearance at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Friday bearing such a striking resemblance to the former vice presidential candidate that many wondered if Palin had actually decided to make a surprise visit to the conference.

Slate’s Dave Weigel tweeted a photo Friday morning of the eerily similar looking woman, who appears to be sitting on display donning glasses and a red blouse, both of which are typical for Palin to wear.

Politico reported Friday that the doppleganger is named Patti Lyons, silencing rumors that this was the real Palin.

Palin herself declined an invitation to the conference because of scheduling conflicts.
