While Wisconsin’s Republican governor, Scott Walker, on Sunday reiterated to Barack Obama that the president should stay out of his state’s affairs, potential 2012 GOP hopeful Herman Cain flexed his own leadership muscles with attacks on local Democrats.

In the midst of the budget standoff between public sector union members and the governor, Cain castigated AWOL Democrats for trying to “disrupt and intimidate” the budget process.

“I think they were doing a disservice to the voters. They were basically reneging on their job responsibilities,” Cain said on FOX Monday. “Stay there, make your point, debate your point and then take the vote like they were trying to do, rather than just disrupt and intimidate. That’s what they’re trying to do with these antics of leaving town.”

During a Saturday appearance in Madison, Cain called the disruption “Ground Zero” for state budget debates around the country.
