American jihadi gets 25 years for ‘South Park’ and Facebook death threats

A Muslim convert and college dropout was sentenced to 25 years in prison on Thursday after pleading guilty to attempting to provide material support to a Somali-based terrorist group and threatening the lives of the writers of the “South Park” satiric television show for portraying the prophet Muhammad in a bear suit.

Zachary Adam Chesser, 21, of Fairfax, Va., had also posted on a militant Islamic website the names and addresses of participants in another satiric effort, an “Everybody Draw Mohammed Day” sponsored by a group of artists on Facebook. He advised the militant Muslim followers of the website: “Just a place to start.”

Lawyers for Mr. Chesser portray him as a confused, immature person who tended to dive wholeheartedly into new experiences. In an 18-month period in 2009 and 2010, he went from being a student at George Mason University to converting to Islam and becoming a close follower of radical Muslim cleric Anwar al-Awlaki. In the process he came to embrace the most violent form of Islam advocated by Al Qaeda and other Muslim terror groups.

Since his arrest last year, Chesser has repudiated violence and says he feels remorse for his earlier conduct. His lawyers had urged that he receive a 20-year sentence.

    isn’t it funny to see a jew convert to Islam and then threatening to kill cartootist, I seen another Jew who converted to Islam and the idiot reatard loves Osama ben laden ,and even said on CNN he would support a nuclear attack against Isreal. now these jews are really showing how much they hate their own Jewish people. Islam makes people forget who they are, its not change of religion but culture and idenity, kills them.

    22 years ago today, Salman Rushdie got a fatwa on his head. It’s great to see how multi-culturalism has helped foreign cultures spread to our own kids. Makes you feel warm and tingly.

      Pardon me, but the warm feeling is from the feet being held to the coals.
      The tingly feeling is from the static around the three or four 24-volt batterys.
      Wouldn’t surprise me if they do this to help convert the terrorist from American citzen.

    This revolutionary dilettante can now dive wholeheartedly into new experiences
    with his cellmate, Bubba. He, like a lot of his contemporaries, would have been better off dealing with his confusion and maturity issues in one of our military boot camps. They could have the very unique new experience of learning to be responsible young soldiers or Marines. I wonder how much of the path this young man chose was a product of his high school “teachers” and college “professors” or indulgent “parents.”
