Alexandra Wallace, the southern California undergraduate who apologized for her recent YouTube rant about the “hordes of Asian people that UCLA accepts into our school every single year,” said Friday that she will no longer be attending classes at UCLA.

In a statement to the college newspaper, The Daily Bruin, Wallace said, “the harassment of my family, the publishing of my personal information, death threats and being ostracized from an entire community” has caused her to leave the university.

“In an attempt to produce a humorous YouTube video, I have offended the UCLA community and the entire Asian culture,” Wallace said in the statement. “Especially in the wake of the ongoing disaster in Japan, I would do anything to take back my insensitive words. I could write apology letters all day and night, but I know they wouldn’t erase the video from your memory, nor would they act to reverse my inappropriate action.”

On the Sunday after Japan’s 8.9 magnitude earthquake, Wallace went on YouTube to complain about UCLA’s Asian population. Wallace berated Asians for being loud in the library, inviting their families over to do their laundry and for not using “American manners.” Wallace quickly removed her posting from the Internet, but it had already gone viral by that point.

“Hi. In America, we do not talk on our cell phones in the library,” Wallace said in her YouTube video, claiming that Asians often scream into their phones while she is trying to focus on schoolwork in the library. Wallace went on to say, “ohhhhhh ching chong,” mocking a generic Asian language.

Though Wallace expressed racist sentiment in her YouTube video, many critics have responded to her tirade by posting equally disturbing YouTube videos.

One YouTube user, Jason, said he believes Wallace needs to be beaten.

“Alexandra, you are a deeply troubled, mischievous little fuckface who deserves to be slapped in the fucking face, and I mean hard. Okay, why would I say that?…Now I honestly, women shouldn’t be hit, others fucking feminism bullshit, well fuck that. Some bitches need to be fuckin’ slapped in the face, and she’s definitely one of them.”

Another YouTube user made fun of Wallace’s cleavage.

One YouTube user made a parody video called “White girls in the library” in which he criticizes Caucasian females for having spilling cleavage.

I think the biggest thing this video and the responses show is that in general, kids can say really stupid things

Okay, a young person did something did something stupid. Not the first time, won’t be the last… but DEATH THREATS? Really? And to the Asian guy who posted the “Some f****n’ bitches need to be slapped in the face” video, I say, “You’re absolutely right, dude! And you’re one of them!”

Ahhhhhh … “Tolerance” – ya gotta love the hypocrisy:

I was proud to support Ms. Gratz in her discrimination lawsuit against the Univ. of Michigan. The Dems stacked the Appeals Court against her (Sen. Levin blocked GW’s pick for that Appeals Court fearing the ruling would go against “affirmative action”) and still she prevailed despite the demented rantings of Sandy O’Connor.
I suspect that “Pink” has never been turned down for a job or college admission in favor of someone less qualified.
Perhaps some day she’ll taste that bitter fruit herself.
