Trump claims he ‘screwed’ Gaddafi

Depending on your perspective this could be good or it could be bad – if you’re trying to gauge the character of a potential 2012 Republican presidential nominee.

On Monday’s “Fox & Friends” on the Fox News Channel, real estate titan Donald Trump, someone who has been toying with the idea of a presidential run, explained a business transaction he made with Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi – which he overcharged the African dictator.

“By the way, I could tell you something else – I dealt with Gaddafi,” Trump said. “[I] rented him a piece of land. He paid me more for one night than the land was worth for two years, and then I didn’t let him use the land. That’s what we should be doing. I don’t want to use the word ‘screwed’, but I screwed him. That’s what we should be doing.”

And as it turned out, he didn’t let Gaddafi have what he paid for.

“I rented him a piece of land in Bedford, N.Y.,” he continued. “He paid me a fortune and then I didn’t let him use the land.”

“Fox & Friends” co-host Alisyn Camerota asked him why. Trump said he didn’t want to and that is the way people should think in this country.

“Because I didn’t want to,” he said. “That should be the thinking of this country, not the kind of thinking we have right now. It’s ridiculous. Just a little controversy for your show.”

Now I can’t decide who I want to take the Republican nomination – Trump, Palin, or Bachman.

The Donald at his finest moment. LOL!

Trump is garbage. As of now, Daniels is the only GOP candidate I really could even fathom voting for.

Well we heard Trump’s version of this story, maybe some day we’ll learn the real story. What is the DC’s fascination with this clown? Talk about self-serving crap…Probably Trump’s attempt to pre-empt bad publicity for doing a deal with Gaddafi.

And he might run for president? Wow, what a great guy! What character! What humility! What inspiration!

Isn’t it past time for Americans to consider honor, ethics, morals and character when they deliberate over a man’s qualifications to be our president? Oh, no, wait – they have to “look presidential” and be “smooth public speakers” and think “inside the box”.

We do get the government we deserve.

    Because I didn’t want to? Ouch. I don’t care if it was Qadaffi, a deal’s a deal.

The same way he has screwed the taxpayers multiple times by declaring bankruptcy and passing his debts on to local, state and federal governments and investors.
