Jesse James, chief executive of West Coast Choppers and Hollywood bad boy, wants people to read his side of the story.

“People claim to know everything about me, when they actually know nothing,” James told People. “But once you read this, you will know everything – the whole story, right here.”

America reviled him after accusations of racy affairs ended his marriage last spring with Hollywood’s sweetheart, Sandra Bullock. Now, People reports that James will release a memoir, “American Outlaw,” on May 3.

“My life has been defined by many things and not just the events of the last year,” James told People. “I just wanted [the memoir] to be a good story, a page-turner and hopefully people will see it as that.”

James delves into addiction, a difficult upbringing, rocky relationships and how fatherhood saved him. While he plans to divulge a personal and often painful story, he keeps the book jacket rugged with a picture of him portrayed as famous American outlaw.
