The Blaze’s Scott Baker reports:

Fox News and Mercury Radio Arts, Glenn Beck’s production company, are proud to announce that they will work together to develop and produce a variety of television projects for air on the Fox News Channel as well as content for other platforms including Fox News’ digital properties. Glenn intends to transition off of his daily program, the third highest rated in all of cable news, later this year.

Roger Ailes, Chairman and CEO of Fox News said, “Glenn Beck is a powerful communicator, a creative entrepreneur and a true success by anybody’s standards.  I look forward to continuing to work with him.”

Glenn Beck said: “I truly believe that America owes a lot to Roger Ailes and Fox News. I cannot repay Roger for the lessons I’ve learned and will continue to learn from him and I look forward to starting this new phase of our partnership.

Joel Cheatwood, SVP/Development at Fox News, will be joining Mercury Radio Arts effective April 24, 2011. Part of his role as EVP will be to manage the partnership and serve as a liaison with the Fox News Channel.

Roger Ailes said:  “Joel is a good friend and one of the most talented and creative executives in the business. Over the past four years I have consistently valued his input and advice and that will not stop as we work with him in his new role.”

“Glenn Beck” is consistently the third highest rated program on cable news. For the 27 months that “Glenn Beck” has aired on Fox News, the program has averaged more than 2.2 million total viewers and 563,000 viewers 25-54 years old, numbers normally associated with shows airing in primetime, not at 5pm. “Glenn Beck” has dominated all of its cable news competitors since launch.

Rumors had been swirling around for a while that this was coming.  In July of 2009, Beck told an audience he might be going blind.  And a September, 2010 New York Times Magazine article noted that Beck,

is the only major personality at the network whose office is not at Fox News headquarters in the News Corp building (Mercury is a few blocks down Sixth Avenue). He employs his own publicist, Matthew Hiltzik, a communications consultant who is the son of Beck’s agent, George Hiltzik. Beck receives a $2.5 million salary from Fox News, which bumps to $2.7 million next year, the last of the contract. It is a small fraction of Beck’s revenues, the bulk of which he brings in from his radio and print deals.

More recently, some have speculated there might even be a “Glenn Beck channel.”

Beck’s show launched on Fox News the day before Obama’s inauguration.

All hail Glenn Beck! America’s 21st Century prophet! God Bless you, Glenn!

    • TrishaD

I have learned (and yes, verified) more history from Glenn Beck over the last two years than I have in all my previous years combined. He has done me and my family a great service and helped us to wake up to what is going on. We are deeply grateful.

      • FoxNewsForever

I agree! I never cared much for history books or doing research, etc. but ever since Beck has been on, I know I can tune in and learn all I ever need to know exactly the way I need to know it.

And just yesterday he confirmed that he thinks the end of the world is coming – I mean, why would he need another contract if the world is going to end anyway? As always, he is one step ahead of all the “sane” people out there!

        • The_anniebanannie

You’re an idiot and your failed attempt at humor is stupid.

          • FoxNewsForever

What’s your problem? Why don’t you go watch MSNBC or CNN then?? Media Matters and the LSM will feed you whatever you want to hear.

  • loudog

He served his purpose firing up the loons for the midterms. Won’t be useful trying to get the center to vote for a Republican President though, usefulness over.

    • riseabove

You mean those same loons who have been footing the bill their entire lives to pay for food, housing, clothing and healhcare for the growing population of freeloaders that you appear to be amongst, loudog? Those loons? Those normal, decent people who set their alarms every night so they can wake up at 5:30 A.M., get up, shower, go to work, earn a paycheck, have taxes taken out to pay for all those “loony left” programs, bailouts, media and oil kickbacks, freebies, voter fraud payouts and bribes you’re so fond of?

Seems to me the real loons are the ones who have been plotting and scheming to use other people’s money to further scam them and ultimately rob them of their God-given rights and Constitutional liberties. I think the word “loon” is a tad too mild for our merry band of liars and thieves and a more appropriate description would be criminals. The only difference between those perpetuating this massive fraud and deception upon the American people and convicted felons is which side of the bars they’re on. There’s no moral or ethical difference. None whatsoever. They’re just criminals who haven’t been convicted, yet. And what are you, loudog? What does that make you and your lefty buddies? You represent those nutty women who become insanely infatuated with violent felons. Better start spraying your stationery with perfume, loudog. I reckon it won’t be long now…

      • loudog

There’s always the radio to learn what to be frightened of.

        • The_anniebanannie

          So, Beck’s a democrat now?

    • flips

      Exactly.

Fox doesn’t need this John Birch/Tea Party cheerleader anymore.

Now that the billionaires again run the GOP they can get on with more important agenda items like putting Medicare in the hands of their Wall Street friends.

It was always about defending the rich and attacking the working people.

      • TommyV

        flips…you are a true moron!

How do you think rich people get rich? By working right…so wht aren’t they the working man….especially when they provide jobs for so many people. Is that so difficult for your pea brain to understand but I know you do understand it flips….no one could be that dense…not even you. You’re just dishonest like the rest of the dopey progresives.

Why do you hate rich people flips…are you jealous? That must be it! Have I hit it on the head flips? The green eyed monster strikes again! You probably drive around in a 20 year old car and live with Mommy…do I have it right? Or maybe you and loudog and joe Steel share a little stdio apartment…how cozy.

Just tell me one thing please…..do you sleep in the middle :)!

        • abigcity

o wise honest conservative! what a great question! how do the rich get rich? working hard?

the hard-working koch brothers worked incredibly hard to get born to rich parents! donald trump, that amazing man, worked tireless in the balls of his father to make sure he was born to rich parents!

and let us not forget the hard and tireless work that money does when it is put through mathematical algorithms to make even more money, by speculating on the price of food or oil or anything else!

hurrah for hard work! if only i had worked as hard, i could have been born to rich parents too!

      • TrishaD

Flips – do FACTS make you this crazy? And speaking of turning things over to billionaires…don’t you love the new puppet show? You know – the one where Obama is having his strings pulled by George Soros.

    • truebearing

Says the bitter troll who can’t refute a single thing Beck has said on his program.

Beck has pierced the Soros/Progressive veil, repeatedly predicted what would happen with the economy, and outed the key players and strategy of the left. Predictably, the left hates him, so they send out their useless idiots to make pathetic attempts to smear him. Consider yourself one of those useless idiots.

      • loudog

He certainly got you fired up.

    • TrishaD

Looks like you left a letter our of your name. Shouldn’t that be LOUD Dog? Your attitude is the problem…intolerance of other views. Get over yourself!

      • loudog

I tolerated Beck everytime I tuned in to his radio program, doesn’t mean I need to agree with him.

Are you sure you’re being tolerant of my views?

  • sunnyr

    Glenn Beck – 2012!

    Go Glenn!

  • ManFromNowhere

Well, can’t say I’m surprised. Glenn was hinting at this sort of thing last year on his radio show. My guess is he will largely move from TV to internet and merge and expand his websites to create an internet channel. He peaked on TV at 8/28 and now he is moving on. Not only that his newfound religious conservatism was causing his audience to shrink so an early exit before he completely loses his audience was a wise decision. Not to mention his on-going health issues. Good luck Glenn.

  • Spring

Losing his tv program was inevitable and yet his radio program is worse. I can remember him calling the special ops out to join the revolution, like he was expecting violence, or wanting it.

    • TrishaD

Hey Spring, are your eyes BROWN? Because you are certainly full of it. When you cannot talk about facts it is always easier to just attack isn’t it?

  • jmk1502

Guess the tinfoil hat-wearing folk will have to listen to Beck rant and rave on his radio show. No more chalkboard. A great piece of American culture has died :)

    • Chicago Ray

Obviously you don’t comprehend too well since he’s not leaving FOX at all, he’s just working less, like any human. Most people can’t handle one job in this country today, much less a radio and tv gig every single day and the content was simply overlapping.

So why do it like that? Not to mention most of the people who listen to him don’t need to see his show because they already know what it’s about. You must be one of these people who hates it so much but hasn’t spent more than the 30 second out of context soundbites Media Matters emails you watching or listening to it, or the youtube cuts you catch on your leftist daily blog troll.

      • johno413

People like jmk are just further angry that they have, once again, been outdone by Beck and FNC, who they regard as less intelligent. Intelligent people might reconsider their positions after so many defeats, but…….
