Just in case you needed reminding that President Obama is gearing up for a campaign: he just signed up to appear on the final season of ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show,’ NBC reports.

President Obama and First Lady Michelle will sit down with Winfrey to tape the episode in Chicago on April 27.  Michelle also recently appeared on the show in January.

Winfrey has been pulling out all the stops for the final season of her talk show, and what better way to end her reign than by sitting down with the leader of the free world?

The first active president to make continual use of the talk show circuit, Obama and his wife shared the stage with Winfrey once before in 2006. He has also appeared on ‘The View’ and ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show.’

Although Winfrey openly supported Obama during his 2008 campaign, she has recently said that she will not renew that support in 2012. Rumor has it that she is wary of alienating viewers from her new OWN network, which has struggled to maintain ratings.

The episode is set to air May 2.
