Madonna shops a new religion: Opus Dei?

Madonna has spent the past 15 years making Kabbalah famous, but it seems the Jewish mystic religion’s most dedicated follower may be changing camps. She has reportedly been looking into Opus Dei, the Catholic sect made famous by “The Da Vinci Code.”

The singer recently had a falling out with some Kabbalah leaders after they allegedly squandered cash raised for her charity, Raising Malawi. “She has invested so much into Kabbalah so she was devastated by these damning accusations,” a source said.

Although it is not confirmed whether the star has officially cut ties with Kabbalah, she spent Friday with priests from Opus Dei. “She has started exploring different religions,” the source said. “Madonna has always been intrigued by Opus Dei. As yet, she’s not a fully paid-up member — she’s just had informal chats.”

This comes just two weeks after a report was released claiming that after raising $3.9 million for Malawi, most of the money was spent on the Kabbalah Centre’s offices in L.A. Madonna has since removed several of the charity’s board members, three of whom had strong ties to Kabbalah.
