During the recent unpleasantness in Madison, Wisconsin, we were treated to the ugly spectacle of public school teachers behaving like demented thugs in public. Even worse, they did so while they were supposed to be working. To help these teachers bilk the taxpayers so they could yell and scream about not bilking the taxpayers enough, several doctors from the local med school handed out fake sick notes.
If that sounds unethical to you, their superiors agree. According to the Wisconsin State Journal:
UW Health doctors who wrote sick notes for protesters at the Capitol in February face penalties up to a loss of pay and leadership positions, the UW School of Medicine and Public Health said Tuesday.
The medical school reviewed 22 UW Health doctors said to have been involved in writing medical excuses for protesters attending rallies over Gov. Scott Walker’s budget proposals, according to a medical school statement.
“Several” of the doctors were found not to have participated, and among those who were involved “the nature and extent of involvement varied widely,” the statement said.
“Personnel action will be based on the specific nature of the offense and the level of the physician’s involvement,” the statement said. “The consequences range from written reprimand to loss of pay and leadership position.”
This is bad news not only for these doctors, but for their defenders, such as Karoli at never-more-aptly-named Crooks & Liars:
Being “Breitbarted” is very bad, of course. If Breitbart says something, that means it didn’t really happen. I’m sure that’s a great comfort to these doctors.

House votes to restrict unions
House lawmakers voted overwhelmingly last night to strip police officers, teachers, and other municipal employees of most of their rights to bargain over health care, saying the change would save millions of dollars for financially strapped cities and towns.
The 111-to-42 vote followed tougher measures to broadly eliminate collective bargaining rights for public employees in Ohio, Wisconsin, and other states. But unlike those efforts, the push in Massachusetts was led by Democrats who have traditionally stood with labor to oppose any reduction in workers’ rights.
Wow, 111 Hitlers. The protesters are gonna need a lot more Magic Markers to draw all those mustaches. Ha ha, just kidding. Can’t you read? The lawmakers are Democrats.
