Cameron Diaz: Marriage an outdated institution

The Green Hornet actress Cameron Diaz has dated lots of fellas but never been married, and perhaps her latest interview with Maxim sheds light on why she has avoided tying the knot.

“I think we have to make our own rules,” the 38-year-old southern Californian said. “I don’t think we should live our lives in relationships based off old traditions that don’t suit our world any longer.”

Diaz, who made no secret of her long-term relationship with former flame Justin Timberlake, is currently dating Yankees third baseman Alex “A-Rod” Rodriguez. Before hanging around those two, the comedienne had been linked to other high-profile actors such as Matt Dillon and Jared Leto.

“I love men more than anything. I want all men to be happy and have rad women in their lives,” Diaz said. “But guys need women who challenge them and don’t let them get away with their s–t. Women, conversely, need to not be crazy bitches who blow up when their guys tell them something that scares them.”

Diaz has a history of being honest and open with the media on her personal life and choices. Earlier this year, the Charlie’s Angels star said she was certain she’d purchased pot from rapper Snoop Dogg during their days at Long Beach Polytechnic High School.

“I’m pretty sure I bought weed from him,” Diaz said of Snoop, who has a medical marijuana card. “I was green even in high school! He was a year older than me… I remember him, he was very tall and skinny. He wore lots of ponytails.”

The actress made this year’s Maxim Hot 100 list and stars in the upcoming summer comedy Bad Teacher, in which she plays an apathetic, crude, shallow, and mean educational instructor.
