The App Store, a slew of iPhone and iPad games, and the iPhone 4, have just been awarded Guinness world records.

The prestigious prize was awarded to the App Store, for being the most popular apps marketplace in the world, thanks to more than 10 billion apps served since its launch, back in July 2008.

The App Store also won an award for being the biggest virtual video game store, thanks to a catalog of over 40,000 titles, far larger than any other games catalog offered by competing apps marketplace, such as Android, Xbox Live Indie Arcade, Steam, and the Wii Virtual Console. A third award was given to Apple’s marketplace for offering the largest game catalog at launch, with no less than 145 games available when the App Store opened for business on July 10, 2008.
