Elton John isn’t happy with Florida and he’s not keeping quiet about it.

The singer and father sent a written request to Republican Florida Gov. Rick Scott Tuesday, urging the state to keep its AIDS Drug Assistance Program, The Associated Press reports.

The Department of Health has held hearings to discuss the program, including changing income eligibility requirements.

In his letter, John said changes to the program could prevent 1,600 people from gaining access to antiretroviral medications.

A spokeswoman for the Department of Health said no official plans have been formed to change the program, the AP reported.

The music legend has been active in lobbying for those plagued with HIV/AIDS. In 1992 he established the Elton John AIDS Foundation, a non-profit that helps raise money for patient services. He has also been active in the LGBT community.
