Graham says Romney risks looking like Jimmy Carter

A leading Republican voice on national security said Tuesday that presidential contender Mitt Romney risks looking like Jimmy Carter if he doesn’t take a stronger stance on Afghanistan.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (S.C.), who supported Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) against Romney in the 2008 presidential primary, leveled one of his party’s most stinging insults at the 2012 front-runner in response to Romney’s statements in Monday’s New Hampshire debate.

He directly challenged Romney’s suggestion that the conflict in Afghanistan was a war of independence, and added: “From the party’s point of view, the biggest disaster would be to let Barack Obama become Ronald Reagan and our people become Jimmy Carter.”

Romney doesn’t look like Jimmy Carter! Romney looks just like the other candidates on the stage Monday! He did not stand out as he should have! He blended in with the same rhetoric the others were using to discredit the president. Criticizing President Obama’s handling of the economy is fruitless since the Congress is who controls the purse strings.
The fourteen million unemployed are unemployed due to Congressional actions and in-actions, greedy corporations, banking industry consolidations, Wall Street greedy, and mega-corporations off-shoring jobs to enhance profits. Congress extended the falsely called “Bush Tax” for the richest two percent(2%) of Americans.
The oppressive actions noted by Rick Santorum result from Congressional actions and in-actions.
Ron Paul blamed the recession on the Federal Reserve when in fact it was caused by the greedy Congressional GOP/TEA members. The 110th Congress loosened regulations and passed legislation to circumvent previously passed laws that allowed “Derivative” and other specialty “Financial instruments” not be regulated.
Ron Paul said. “What we’re doing now is absolutely wrong,” he said of federal programs meant to support the housing industry. This statement should disqualify him from running by every Real Estate Agent nationwide.
Herman Cain, called for eliminating the capital gains tax as a way to stimulate job creation. Capital gains has never generated jobs!
Texas Gov. Rick Perry has said he will decide after the state Legislature completes its current session. Rick Perry is a career politician from Texas who murdered a convict in the name of Texas. This convict was being deemed innocent by the “Innocence Project” but Perry allowed his execution. Texas has a budget deficit directly attributed to the “Conservative” legislature and Governor.
The question is who are they to force their Social Conservative Libertarian values on the American public?
Who do these people think they are to shove their religious agenda on the American public?
No one in his right mind should consider Perry for president.
Michele Bachmann declared President Obama, “a one-term president,” When she will not make it past the Republican Primaries. Her standing has continued to decline with people paying close attention to the shenanigans of the TEA party, which she embraces.
They all reveled in: Ronald Reagan once preached — that government was the problem. They do not remember that Reagan signed numerous tax increases into law.
Romney blew himself out of the water when he said, “the auto bailout was a mistake, and said more generally, “Instead of thinking in the federal budget what should we cut, we should ask ourselves the opposite question, `What should we keep?”‘ Actually there were thousands of jobs kept, an economy returning to what it once was and union members remembering who really worked to help keep those industries open and viable.
Santorum criticized the financial bailout that Presidents George W. Bush and Obama backed, and Bachmann said she had worked in closed-door meetings in Congress to defeat the legislation when it was originally passed. And it was the financial Bailout that kept jobs here in America and funds were paid back with interest. America lost nothing and jobs and business stayed open. Again thousands of jobs kept, an economy returning to what it once was and all was paid back with interest.

How does the coolaid taste? That is one of the silliest rants I have see in a long time. Just because you wasted a lot of words doesn’t make it true. Have you ever been to a Tea Party event? I suspect not. You’re sorta like the NYT reporter who wrote an entire article on the TP and had never spoken to, been to or read anything about it. I guess your theory is that Obama has done everything (Anything?) right. Your assessment of the candidates shows either a “Perfection” syndrome where anyone running has to be perfect on every issue or a liberal blindness that allows liberals to see Republicans critically but to be totally blind towards the liberal in the White House. Practise your next rant on your wife. Maybe she will keep you from becoming another Weiner.

Conservatives all over the place are tiring of a war that seems to never make progress, costs way too much money and in the end is in a country that will probably turn on us the week after we leave, whatever week that is, now or 20 expensive years from now. OBL is dead, our current commander in chief isn’t fit to command a latrine cleaning squad- I think this is the main reason most conservatives don’t want any more additional military engagments. Afghanistan will at some point go back to the Afghans, lets have that sooner than later…

Obama is the one that is making himself look like Jimmy Carter and compared to him, Elmer Fudd looks like Reagan…..

I live in Lindsey Land and a bigger two faced RINO pimp besides Arlen Specter has never existed.

Lindsey Light Slippers better be looking for a job because there is no shot he’s going to win reelection.

I believe we all have the feeling that Romney is weak on certain issues. He’s flipped on quite a few issues — unless it’s healthcare, cause ya know’ “that’s a good idea.” But frankly everyone is entitled to change their minds. For myself and most others though, there’s a certain limit as to what/how many things you can change your opinion on.

He won’t be the nominee. If these polls mattered, we’d have President (Hillary) Clinton.

“we’d have President (Hillary) Clinton. ”

      OMG,,,,there went my breakfast.

I think the days of lying for Hillary are over. Now that the MSM has turned on her she hasn’t a leg to stand on. Unlike Palin she still has many many skeletons to uncover and her stint in the US State Department will provide many items to play “Gotcha” with. She will need more than a flack jacket to protect her ass next time.
