Family entertainment chain Chuck E. Cheese’s has outgrown its current pizza recipe, which will undergo “the biggest change in its history,” according to a news release.

“This is a really exciting time for Chuck E. Cheese’s — it’s so great that our guests are enjoying our new pizza recipe, telling us how much they like it and sharing this memory with their families,” Brenda Holloway, Chuck E. Cheese’s marketing manager, said in a release. “While we’ve always provided an environment ‘Where a Kid Can Be a Kid,’ our new policies now help us deliver the type of consistent pizza product that’s expected from the leader in family entertainment.”

According to the release, the new and improved pizza will have never-frozen dough, better crust, fresh veggies and 100-percent natural mozzarella cheese. The release adds that the previous style pizza won over many, but simply became outdated as taste buds evolved over time.

“While the original recipe was loved by many families and even took a spot in the nation’s top seven pizza brands in a study by Brand Keys … Chuck E. Cheese’s saw ‘mushroom for improvement’ and formulated the new recipe to accommodate the changing tastes of parents and children alike,” says the release.

“By replacing the former blend of frozen cheeses with freshly-grated, 100-percent mozzarella and ensuring the freshness of the crust, Chuck E. Cheese’s has redefined the flavor of family fun with a consistently great-tasting pizza,” reads the release.

Chuck E. Cheese’s, which features games, arcades, costumed characters, and more at its venues, is popular among young kids.
