From ‘The Hills’ to the Runway [SLIDESHOW]

Kristin Cavallari, ‘The Hills’ star turned fashionista, strutted her stuff on the Diesel runway in a cobalt blue glass bikini Thursday to commence Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim in Miami. The stunning starlet cited daily treadmill workouts and cutting out alcohol as the secret behind her runway-ready bod.  Despite her supermodel physique, Cavallari told People magazine that she was nervous about wearing the scandalous swimwear on the runway.

“This is the first time I have ever walked a runway in a bathing suit,” Cavallari said. “The glass sort of cut into my skin, and I was really nervous.”

The blond beauty isn’t just walking down the runway: She’s also preparing to walk down the aisle! The 24-year-old announced her engagement to Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler in April, and the pair are set to wed next spring. Cavallari said she fell in love with the NFL star because he made her feel more confident with herself.

“He makes me feel comfortable. I’ve dated other guys, and I’ve felt like I’m not skinny enough,” said the star. “But with Jay, I’ve always felt really comfortable in my skin.”

Before she ties the knot, take a look at Cavallari’s journey from reality-TV star to supermodel.

  • Last week, Kristin Cavallari wowed the crowd in this glass bikini as she walked the Diesel runway during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
  • After the show, the 24-year-old star showed off her enviably slim figure in a tiny white strapless bikini while relaxing in the Florida sunshine.
  • In April, Cavallari became engaged to Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, after nine months of dating. The pair is set to wed next spring.
  • Cavallari joined the cast of the popular MTV reality series "The Hills" in 2009, after her long-time frenemy Lauren Conrad left the show. The star said she joined the show because she wanted to "reconnect with the fans."
  • After rumors of cocaine abuse, Cavallari's "Hills" pals Stephanie Pratt and Lo Bosworth staged a highly publicized drug intervention last year, telling her they were "worried." A shocked and upset Cavallari vehemently denied claims that she ever had substance abuse issues.
  • Cavallari raised eyebrows when she responded to rumors of "The Hills" being scripted by saying, "Nothing you see on TV is real. Fans need to understand it's all entertainment. It's all in fun. I would never put my close friends or a real relationship on a show."
  • The reality show star has also landed some big screen roles in recent years. In 2008, she starred alongside Amy Poehler in "Spring Breakdown," and in 2009 she starred in the high school comedy flick "Wild Cherry," which also starred Rumer Willis.
  • As the reality star rose to fame, she became a worldwide sex symbol seemingly overnight. After landing a spot on Maxim's 'Hot 100' list, Cavallari acknowledged her good looks and said, "I hope that I’ll be hot for a long time so I can make a lot of money, I can retire early, and just travel. Hopefully that will happen."
