Bachmann says migraines don’t affect her ability to serve

Michele Bachmann admitted she often takes medicine to treat migraines, but said that doesn’t mean she’s not fit to serve as president.

She made the comments in response to The Daily Caller‘s report Tuesday that the Republican candidate for president frequently suffers from stress-induced medical episodes. (Stress-related condition ‘incapacitates’ Bachmann; heavy pill use alleged)

“My ability to function effectively will not affect my ability to serve as Commander in Chief,” Bachmann, a Minnesota congresswoman, said Tuesday while campaigning in South Carolina, according to ABC News.

Sources told TheDC that these episodes occur once a week on average and can “incapacitate” her for days at time. On at least three occasions, Bachmann has landed in the hospital as a result.

But Bachmann said the migraines haven’t stopped her from staying active, saying she’s “maintained a full schedule as a Congresswoman and a presidential candidate traveling across this nation.”

“I have prescribed medication I take on occasion whenever symptoms arise and keep my migraines under control,” she said.

“Like nearly 30 million other Americans, I experience migraines that are easily controlled with medication,” she said in a statement. “I am a wife, a mother, a lawyer who worked her way through law school, a former state senator who achieved the repeal of a harmful piece of education policy in Minnesota, and a congresswoman who has worked tirelessly fighting against the expansion of government and wasteful spending.”

TheDC’s Jonathan Strong contributed to this report.

Remember, it’s the darn “Liberal Media” pushing this story….everybody at the RNC loves Michele and hopes she becomes their nominee.

Pathetic article. For the record Obama gives me a headache. So do Rhinos. I’m voting for the best conservative standing to save my country.

There are excellent migraine drugs today; all but the very worst migraines are controllable. Perhaps Bachmann does not wish to take the available drugs; fine, unless she runs for President. Perhaps she really suffers from severe depression or bipolar illness. Again, that’s fine unless she runs for President. If she chooses to run, her disabilities are no longer her own private business. Nor, for that matter, is her husband. He APPEARS to be gay. Again, no problem unless it affects policy. For example, might he feel the need to be a warmonger in order to compensate for SEEMING to be gay. Lindsey Graham certainly feels that need, to the detriment of sound policy.

Obama is reputed to be gay. Rumors have floated around Chicago for years about Obama’s gay sex life. He hung around with the gay choir director at Rev Wright’s so-called church…til the poor guy was murdered, execution style. Google Donald Young sometime.

Oh, and there was another gay guy Obama was friends with at the same church and darn-it-all if he didn’t end up murdered execution style too! And this was right before Obama began his campaign for the presidency. Don’t that beat all?

Do you think Obama should be removed for being gay and hiding in the closet….or the ten thousand better reasons?

Migraines are not a disqualifier for the presidency. There are drugs that deal with the dilated blood vessels quite quickly. Why don’t you try to find a good reason next time?

Richy boy . obama APPEARS to be gay , and I guess the four wars he has us in is in direct relation to his compensation for SEEMING to be gay .

Michele has learnt to control her migraine by taking taxpayers’ money into her very own pocket and then pander around and pretend as a tea party leader. This is one way to de-stress herself:

The mainstream media will do anything to make her seem like a less desirable candidate. I’m sorry that she has migraines, but it won’t make me vote for someone else. If I think she would be the best president, I’m voting for her. That’s just what the liberals DON’T want. She’s very popular, and that’s the reason for these attacks on her.

Seriously? This headline makes it sound like she’s an addict. I’ve been getting migraines for over 10 years…and as incapacitated as I can get, I can live my life. I’m not unconscious. Stop being so dramatic!

  • tmanctown

Obama’s incompetence incapacitates him every day. Don’t forget the hours spent golfing, when he’s also useless.
