Brinksmanship in the debate over raising the nation’s debt ceiling has frequently been called a game of “Russian Roulette” with immense economic consequences.
Billionaire investor Warren Buffett and several Democratic politicians have made the analogy.
House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer presented a unique tweak to the oft-made analogy on Wednesday’s “Morning Joe.”
“I think we’re playing Russian Roulette, frankly, with the nation’s credit-worthiness,” Hoyer said. “Unfortunately, all the chambers seem to be loaded on the House side. They want to shoot every bullet they can at the president.”
