National Hot Dog Month celebrated on the Hill

July is almost over, but there are still a few days left to celebrate National Hot Dog Month. And that’s what members of Congress and staffers did Wednesday afternoon.

The American Meat Institute hosted its annual luncheon on Capitol Hill to celebrate the hot dog. America’s national pastime was celebrated, as well. Retired Major League Baseball stars, “Whitey” Herzog, Mickey Lolich and Felix Millán signed autographs for Washington lawmakers, staffers and other guests at the lunch.

Not in the report: What Brand was Served? And who put “catsup”/’ketchup’ on their Hot Dogs?…If anyone did, they should be immediately terminated.

I remember as a congressional staffer trying to stop by this event and was flatly refused entry. The Executive Director had the gall to refuse three senior congressional staffers entry because we weren’t relevant to their cause and told us so. He gained three enemies in the process.

And your point? You are missing three of the 5 W’s in good reporting, though I realize that you are an amateur. You have what and where, but are missing who and why and your when is vague. How are we supposed to make any sense of your comment?

I thought it was very good reporting. Very upbeat, informative and fun.
