They have it all: Celebrities headed to the Marine Corps Ball [SLIDESHOW]

Although Scarlett Johansson and Betty White turned down soldiers’ YouTube invitations to the 2011 Marine Corps Ball, the show will go on. “Friends With Benefits” co-stars Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake both plan to attend, but in a new development “Terminator” actress Linda Hamilton invited herself, offering to attend in Betty’s place.

Take a look at the stars who graciously declined — and the excuses they offered — along with those who, at least for now, are scheduled to attend fall balls.

  • Blond bombshell Scarlett Johansson, 26, graciously declined Sgt. Dustin L. Williams’ invitation to the Marine Corps Ball, but reportedly is sending the soldier’s unit a case of Moët and Chandon as a consolation. Although we think he’d rather have ScarJo, at least he can drink his sorrows away with his friends!
  • Jack of all trades Betty White was the next celebrity invited to the Marine Corps Ball. Sgt. Ray Lewis invited the 89-year-old actress to the ball, calling her the "all around perfect woman." Unfortunately, Betty had to respectfully decline due to scheduling conflicts.
  • Cpl. Kelsey de Santis' invited Justin Timberlake, 30, to the ball with a posse of buff marines visible in the background. Intimidiating much? Luckily, the “Cry me a River” singer accepted, making him the first and only male celebrity confirmed to attend.
