Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry is coming to Washington, D.C. later this month for a $1,000 per person fundraiser, The Daily Caller has learned.

An invitation billing the Sept. 27 “Washington Kickoff” in support of Perry, the governor of Texas, says the event will take place at The Willard Hotel.

Members of the host committee, who raise $10,000 for the campaign, will take part in a photo-op with Perry.

Since entering the presidential race last month, the Texan has climbed to the top of polls.
