Carey, who is in Washington, D.C. for the Marine Corps Marathon, was asked by TheDC if he is worried about future cuts to defense spending. (RELATED: Gary Johnson: If 9-9-9 is just a rest stop on the way to the Fair Tax, why bother?)

“I have an opinion about the price of cars and stuff on The Price is Right and that’s about it,” Carey told TheDC at the National Press Club on Friday.

When asked about Cain’s 9-9-9 tax plan, Carey responded, “I’ve got no opinion about that either. I mean, I don’t think it will ever go anywhere but I have no opinion. I’m a game show host. I don’t know.”

Carey continued, “I really don’t pay — I would have an opinion if I was more informed about it but I just don’t know enough about it to give an informed opinion about it so I just keep my mouth shut.”

Carey would not entertain further questioning about the GOP field, saying, “I just keep my mouth shut.”
