‘No surprises’? A promise Bachmann can’t keep

Rep. Michele Bachmann’s new web ad promises voters that — unlike the rest of the GOP field — they can expect “no surprises” from her. (Only Rick Santorum is spared from the Bachmann treatment.)

The problem is, this is false advertising. Back in May, I wrote about several questionable things in Bachmann’s background, including her involvement in a controversial pardon. That may not be a deal breaker, but I’m guessing most voters would be surprised to learn about it.

And while it may be less likely a scandal from Bachmann’s past will come back to haunt her, it is entirely possible — if not probable — that she will say something ridiculous in the future that will surprise us.

In fact, it’s pretty predictable. There — most assuredly — will be surprises.
