Pelosi: Unemployment benefits should not be ‘paid for’ [VIDEO]

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi told reporters at her weekly press briefing that Congress should not pay for the extension of unemployment benefits that expire on December 31.

“I think that we must — we must — pass the unemployment insurance. I do not think it should be paid for because it is, again, it is something that people, that is paid into and now we should, for many reasons, not pay for it,” Pelosi said at the Capitol on Thursday. The extension of unemployment insurance benefits will cost approximately $45 billion.
