Iowa pastor: Gingrich ‘the Kim Kardashian of the GOP’

An Iowa pastor is warning voters in his state to steer clear of presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich, who — much to the pastor’s chagrin — is currently leading in the polls.

The Los Angeles Times reports that Pastor Cary Gordon is distributing a biting, sarcastic video that pillories Gingrich for his marital infidelities and big-government tendencies. Via text message, Gordon has sent a link to the video to every registered Republican and non-aligned voter in the state.

Gordon leads the 1,000-member Cornerstone Church in Sioux City, Iowa.

The video, starring filmmaker Molotov Mitchell, calls Gingrich “the Kim Kardashian of the GOP,” for his infidelities and three marriages, and a “liberal in disguise” for his many flip flops.

Gordon told The LA Times that while he forgives Gingrich past foibles “at the end of the day, I have to make a decision on his credibility. I think Newt should run for a lower office, serve for a while and show us a record of no flip-flops and consistent support of Christian morality.”

Molotov Mitchell, a supporter of GOP candidate and Texas congressman Ron Paul, has also produced a Web video calling former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney “Obama light” and saying he “hates children.”
