GQ compiled its list of the 50 most powerful people in Washington, with GOP leaders taking the top spots, with President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden left off the list.

House Majority Leader Rep. Eric Cantor from Virginia is listed as the most powerful person in Washington, trailed by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, who grabbed the number two spot.

Even though GOP congressmen ranked in the top two, the list contains a total of just 15 Republicans. The list features 26 Democrats, most of whom work in the White House or in the Obama administration. The rest are not affiliated with any party.

White House senior adviser David Plouffe, Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton round out the top five.

The rest of the list is filled out by journalists, including liberal Washington Post blogger Ezra Klein, CBS News President David Rhodes and NBC White House correspondent Chuck Todd.

Renowned restauranteur José Andrés made the cut, as did a handful of lobbyists and party planners.
