CHARLESTON, S.C. — Hundreds of students at the College of Charleston are gathering in front of the school’s Randolph Hall for Friday’s rally featuring comedian Stephen Colbert and former presidential candidate Herman Cain.
The comedian is jokingly encouraging South Carolinians to vote for Cain in the primary. The former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza dropped out of the race last year, but his name will still be on the ballot.
Cain has agreed, however, to appear at the event with Colbert.
The rally is set to take place at 1 p.m. The banner for the event includes photos of Cain and Colbert and says, “Vote Cain.”
A band is playing music and the school’s cheerleaders are in attendance.
