It could be time for Dwight Schrute to leave “The Office” at Dunder Mifflin, and focus all of his energy on the Schrute family beet farm.
NBC is considering a spin-off that would center around Rainn Wilson’s zany “Battlestar Galactica” loving character, Dwight Schrute, writes The Hollywood Reporter.
Dwight’s antics have earned him a cult following, with several Internet blogs and memes dedicated to the character.

But even with Dwight’s big fan base, NBC should be wary of the spin-off formula.
The last time the network tried this with a major character from a previously popular comedy, we ended up with the short-lived series, “Joey,” a spin-off of “Friends.”
