Reality TV star, debunked conspiracy theorist and “short-fingered vulgarian” Donald Trump may or may not endorse either Newt Gingrich or Mitt Romney later today in what is, apparently, a newsworthy announcement.
The New York Times, Associated Press and the political news website politico.com have reported that the possibly bald casino mogul will endorse Gingrich. Matt Drudge, ABC News and Fox News are saying he will actually throw his support behind Romney.
Fox News reports three sources have confirmed that Trump will endorse Romney, the Republican front-runner and former Massachusetts governor. Doing so would certainly make it difficult Trump to follow through on a rumored independent run if Romney wins the GOP nomination.
No word yet whether either — or both? — of the candidates will appear with the former Trump Vodka manufacturer.
An announcement in Nevada is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
