In an attempt to sex up the classic Sherlock Holmes tales, Lucy Liu is tapped to play the detective’s sidekick, Dr. Watson, in a new CBS series “Elementary.”
The series will be a modern twist on the classic detective duo. Instead of dreary ol’ London, the two will solve mysteries in New York City, where Holmes, played by Jonny Lee Miller, is in rehab. Watson will be his partner in crime, as well as his sober sponsor.
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle would be so proud.
